I thank you for your interest in Drexel University College of Engineering’s PhD program. I encourage you to apply for the Department of Educations Graduate Assistantships in the Areas of National Need (GAANN) Fellowship.
The GAANN fellowships (in combination with support from your faculty advisor) can cover tuition and stipend (dependent upon demonstrated financial need) for one year.
The GAANN Fellowship is available for exceptional students who meet the following criteria:
- Must be either US citizens or Permanent residents of the US
- 3.3 GPA
- 1250 Verbal and Quantitative score on the GRE’s.
- Qualified for admission to the PhD program at Drexel University
- Recommendation from faculty advisor supporting the nomination
- Must demonstrate financial need by completing the FAFSA by April1
If you are interested in applying for the fellowship you must:
- Submit your application for graduate admission (http://www.drexel.edu/em/apply/) and be accepted to the College of Engineering PhD program
- Submit application by April 6, 2007
- Apply for FAFSA (www.fafsa.ed.gov) by April 1, 2007
- Complete the GAANN Application form (http://www.coe.drexel.edu/gaann/Application%202007.pdf)
and include:
- Transcript
- Two letters of recommendation. One must be from your prospective/current graduate advisor.
- Statement of Purpose for Ph.D. studies
