Purpose
To financially support low-income students interested in pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics or Electrical and Computer Engineering at Drexel University.
Benefits
As a AIME Scholar you are entitled to:
- Scholarship up to $10,000 per year based on need.
- A grant funded computer.
- Travel Allowance.
- Scholarship to DELTA Summer Bridge Program.
- AIME Activities: workshops, seminars, and undergraduate research opportunities.
- Personalized mentorship and advocacy in the college of engineering.
- Outreach activities including writing and producing a podcast series about your engineering experience.
Eligibility
- Identify your major as Mechanical Engineering or Electrical and Computer engineering.
- Be a US Citizen, permanent resident, or lawful refugee.
- Meet the criteria for low income as defined in the Terms and Conditions.
- Have demonstrated unmet need in your financial aid package.
- Be accepted to Drexel University full or part time.
- Be selected by the scholarship committee based on your common application (excluding GPA and SAT/ACT), essays and letters of recommendation. Selection will be based on:
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Community mindedness and Academic potential
- Academic Aspiration
