This spring, the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) inducted Kapil Dandekar, PhD, E. Warren Colehower Endowed Chair Professor in electrical and computer engineering, to its College of Fellows’ Class of 2023.

Election to the AIMBE College of Fellows is among the highest professional distinctions to a medical or biological engineer. AIMBE Fellows include three Nobel Prize laureates, 17 scientists who received the Presidential Medal of Science and/or Technology and Innovation, and hundreds more who have been inducted into national academies of Sciences, Engineering or Medicine. To receive this honor, Dandekar was nominated, reviewed and elected by peers and members of the College of Fellows “for outstanding contributions leveraging wireless systems to advance the development of wearable biomedical sensors.”

“I am deeply appreciative and incredibly honored to be inducted into the AIMBE College of Fellows,” Dandekar said. “The contributions recognized by this induction are the result of not only my efforts, but also the products of research collaborations with numerous faculty and students across Drexel University who I have had the pleasure of working with.”
